Penticton's Top 40 Over/Under 40 is a recognition program that identifies 20 outstanding leaders under 40 years of age, and 20 outstanding leaders who are 40 years of age and older, living and/or working in the South Okanagan-Similkameen. These individuals are inspiring, innovative, create a significant and positive impact, and are community minded.

The Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce last held a Top 40 Under 40 campaign back in 2014 where recipients said they felt honoured to be recognized, those who were entrepreneurs reported seeing an increase in business and/or brand recognition, and everyone was grateful for the network that was borne from this group of young achievers. It also showcased the opportunity for success that people can find in our region.

Now 10 years later, the Top 40 Over/Under 40 in 2024 aims to showcase 20 local business and community leaders under 40, and 20 leaders 40 and over. Unlike a Top 40 program consisting of recipients all being under 40 (or over 40), this program will highlight the skills, talent, and contributions of all ages who make our community stronger, while creating a unique opportunity for young leaders to meet and connect with successful, like-minded mentors.

All Top 40 Over/Under 40 Honourees will have their achievements and biographies highlighted in local media including Castanet and the Penticton Western over a 20-week span, featuring both an Under 40 and a 40 and Over Honouree each week. Recipients will also be featured on the Chamber's website and magazine, receive a plaque recognizing their achievement as a Top 40, and will receive an invitation to the Top 40 Gala at the conclusion of the program.
