Requirements

The Business Leader of the Year Award recognizes a business professional who has achieved exceptional success in the ownership or management of a local business. This award honours individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership, strategic thinking, balanced workplace values, exemplary customer service, community engagement, and a pursuit of excellence.

To be eligible for this award, the individual must have been involved in the business for more than two years as of September 1, 2023.

Self-nominations are not accepted, so individuals seeking nomination should consult their mentors or community leaders.

To be considered for the Business Leader of the Year Award, the individual must meet the following criteria:

• Outstanding Contribution to the Business Environment: The individual has made a significant and notable contribution to the local business environment. Their achievements and impact have positively influenced the industry and set a benchmark for success.
• Excellence in Chosen Field and Business Acumen: The individual demonstrates excellence in their chosen field and exhibits strong business acumen. They have a deep understanding of their industry, make informed decisions, and implement effective strategies that drive business growth and success.
• Exemplary Customer Service and Community Involvement: The individual consistently delivers exemplary customer service, going above and beyond to meet customer needs and expectations. They actively engage with the community, supporting local initiatives, and making a positive impact beyond their business operations.
• Leadership Attributes and Corporate Citizenship: The individual exhibits outstanding leadership attributes, including mentorship, fostering positive customer relations, and embodying corporate citizenship. They serve as role models and inspire others to achieve excellence in their own endeavors.
• Inspiring Improvement and Quality of Life: The individual inspires and motivates others to enhance services and improve the quality of life in Penticton. Their actions and accomplishments have a far-reaching positive influence on the community and contribute to its overall growth and development.
