Requirements

The New Business Award celebrates the achievements of a recently established business that has been operating for less than three years as of September 1, 2023. This award recognizes outstanding business performance achieved within a short period and serves as an inspiration for other new businesses.

Non-profit organizations are not eligible for this award.

To be eligible for the New Business Award, a business must meet the following criteria:

• Promise for Continued Growth: The business demonstrates potential for continued growth and success in the future. It has shown early signs of establishing a strong foundation and has strategies in place to sustain its growth trajectory.
• Entrepreneurial Spirit: The business exhibits an entrepreneurial spirit characterized by innovation, risk-taking, and adaptability. It demonstrates a willingness to explore new opportunities, challenge the status quo, and think creatively to overcome obstacles.
• Connection to the Penticton Community: The business actively engages with and contributes to the Penticton community. It demonstrates a genuine connection to the local community through partnerships, collaborations, or support of community initiatives.
• Reputation for Integrity and Customer Service: The business is working diligently to establish a reputation for integrity and a high level of customer service. It prioritizes building trust with its customers, delivering exceptional experiences, and maintaining ethical business practices.
