Criteria for Nominees

The program will honor 20 '40 and Over' and 20 '40 and Under' individuals, each meeting specific age criteria.

Nominations for Top 40 Over 40 are for individuals 40 and over as of January 1, 2024.

Nominations for Top 40 Under 40 are for individuals between the ages of 18-39, as of January 1, 2024.

If a nominee has been previously honoured in the 2014 Top 40 Under 40, are not eligible to be recognized in the 2024 Top 40 Under 40.

Nominees do not have to be a member of the Penticton Chamber, this program is open to the public.

Self-nominations are accepted, though third-party nominations are encouraged.

Nominees must complete an online submission process.

Nominees must reside or work in the South Okanagan-Similkameen region and hold leadership roles in any sector.

An individual only requires one nomination - judging is not based on the number of nominations received.

A person or company may enter as many nominees as they like.

Requirements for Nominations

Nominations open at 4:00pm February 7, 2024

Nominations close at 11:59pm March 3, 2024

Participation in the program entails a commitment to its code of conduct.

Nomination forms are integral to the overall submission package. 

Nominees are encouraged to complete the entire application no later than 11:59pm March 10 in order to be considered by the program's independent judges.

Incomplete submissions will be provided with feedback and a deadline for completion.

All submitted material will be treated with strict confidentiality and screened by Penticton Chamber staff before individual assessment by the selection committee.

All entries and information collected are protected by the Penticton Chamber Privacy Policy.

Nominations are subject to verification by the Penticton Chamber

Judging is undertaken by an independent panel of business leaders and each judge uses a numerical scoring system to rank nominees based on the areas outlined in the application. 

Selection committee members must abstain from evaluating individuals with whom they have personal or professional relationships.

Honorees will be showcased in local media outlets and on the Chamber's platforms.

Disclosure

All information collected from Honourees becomes property of Penticton Chamber for promotional purposes, including bio and photography, for current and future use.

Nominees may be contacted occasionally for promotional means and photo used for any present and/or future marketing collateral.

A nominee may be disqualified if the nominee is unable to meet the requirements, completed application of the Top 40 Over/Under 40 including bio/photo submission in a timely manner.

Nominees may be disqualified if it is determined that the nomination form misrepresents achievements or information in any way.
